Wel according to me if u wanna make ur blog famous and wanna make people atttach to it writ what u think exzctly. Now mind it i mean what you think not just copy and paste from ne site. People go there where they find any naturality and exeactness to what they think.....So write on the tpoics in which you are very much clear and anything that you dont know try to learn them from your readers only......

Do a free press release
Join forums relevant to your site and make comments
These are all free options and take a lot of time and patience.

I have the same problem. I have heard that hosting giveaways is supposed to help bring up your blog traffic, did one, and it really didn't help me out any. I am hoping that it will work by trying to get my blog out there for people to see by joining up on a bunch of sites and such to promote my blog. If you want to promote your blog on free of cost then do -
1) post your blog url in other blogs site and post the comments.
2) bookmark your blog url.
3) do directory submission.
4) do article submission.
if yo want to promote your website by paying money then do -
1) PPC compaign
2) Banner Advertisement.
