Hi all,
Do you people suggest me some of precautions which are to be taken when surfing net. I always get worried when a link is there, I do not open any as they can have virus affected or Spyware. I am looking for safe ways of surfing. Nowadays Internet as there is rise in internet usage so is the threats.

Always have these three running - anti-virus, anti-spyware, and a firewall.
I'm using Windows Vista and my current combinations are AVG Free for my anti-virus, Microsoft Defender for my anti-spy and Windows Firewall for my firewall. All of these are free to download and use.
The new AVG Free version 8 now has link scanning enabled for browsers (works in Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox) that scans links and flags you if you are trying to access a known hijack site.
Some other suggestions for anti-spyware is Spybot-S&D. Works great in eliminting threats. As for the Firewall, there's Comodo.
Just Google any of these to get the download links.
